iPhone Locations Safe from 3rd Parties

If you were slightly paranoid the first time you heard about how your iPhone has been keeping a record of where you are and where you have been, you probably felt a sense of relief when the iOS 4.3.3 update was released, presumably fixing the location tracking services by reducing the size of the cache therefore reducing the amount of information that could be stored, and also the ability to delete the cache simply by turning off location services.

However if that still didn’t manage to quell any fears or paranoia of you being constantly track or monitored by third party software, perhaps this might set you at ease.

Apple’s Bud Tribble just testified at the Congress hearing by stating that the next iOS update will encrypt the cache entirely therefore making it near impossible for third party software to track your location without your permission. When I say near impossible chances are if someone was dead-set on tracking you down you probably have bigger worries anyway.

The Congress hearing will not only feature Apple but Google as well with regards to the issue about mobile privacy.
