Huadian To Clone iPad 2
So it seems that Chinese electronics maker Huadian will be making a clone of the iPad 2 but the buck stops at just the exterior design. This includes an alloy construction, 9.7-inch capacitive touchscreen and it will be 8.8mm thick, very much similar to the iPad 2’s design. Internally however the device will be very much inferior, said to be sporting an 800MHz AMLogic CPU, 512MB of RAM and 8GB of flash memory.
As for what operating system it will be running obviously it will not be running the iOS but most probably it will be running on Android or a freely distributed system. The device is said to be out in a month’s time although pricing still remains unknown.
The question now is would you pay good money for an inferior iPad clone when you are spoilt for choices with regards to tablets nowadays? I wonder what Apple has to say about all this.
