HTC Flyer stylus to come free in-box for those in UK
Those living in the UK can rejoice to the news that according to Mat Smith at Recombu who recently spoke to a HTC spokesperson, the HTC Flyer will be shipped with a free in-box stylus. This is great news for those living in the UK who wanted to their hands on the HTC Flyer and who feel that having to shell out an extra £47.99 for the stylus would just be ridiculous.
However the good news seems to have stopped there and did not manage to crossover to the US where those who are living in the US are not so lucky as they will have to buy the stylus as a separate accessory, as confirmed by HTC. The stylus will cost $79.99 which is on top of the $499.99 for the tablet, bringing the total price close to $600 for a tablet that isn’t even running the latest Android tablet-centric OS Honeycomb nor does it feature dual-core processors either.
Considering the Scribe pen was one of the main features of the HTC Flyer that made it so tempting and to make it an optional accessory just seems downright silly and a rather transparent attempt to squeeze as much money out of the customer as they possibly can. So people what do you think? Would you rather get another brand of tablet or is the Scribe pen and its possibilities worth an extra $79.99?
