HP Pre 3 Gets FCC Approval
When the HP Pre 3 was first announced at a HP event in February it only had support GSM 850/1900, and WCDMA bands II and V and running on HP’s webOS 2.2, but by the looks of things now, it seems that the HP Pre 3 will be a world phone after the FCC had recently released documents outlining the testing and approval of Hewlett-Packard’s upcoming flagship smartphone.
Originally thought to be arriving on AT&T but it looks like it will be coming to Verizon instead, making this the anticipated Verizon’s webOS world phone.
The HP Pre 3 specs include a 3.5 inch multi-touch WVGA touch screen, slide out QWERTY keyboard, 1.4 GHz Qualcomm processor, 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus, LED flash and 720p HD video, GPS, Bluetooth, WiFi, 512MB RAM and a choice of 8GB or 16GB internal storage, and a 3.5mm jack.
It has already been about 3 months since the announcement of the Pre 3 but there has been no word on its actual launch date or availability. I guess all we can is continue waiting, hopefully not for another 3 more months as the longer HP waits to release their webOS device, the more time it will give Android and Apple to overtake it even further.
