Google Movies Blocked On Rooted Devices

If you ever needed a reason not to root your Android device, perhaps this is one of them. It seems that Google has blocked the access to Google Movies on Android devices that have been rooted, which according to the error message is an issue due to copyright, and who can blame them really.

If the access to Google Movies has been blocked for rooted devices, does that mean that Google Music will be too? After all they both contain copyrighted material, and with Google currently facing licensing issues with the major labels perhaps a smart idea to show that they are indeed pro-copyright, would be to block access for rooted devices too.

Although it wouldn’t surprise me if the developer community found a way around this issue soon.
