Google Map’s Native iOS App Could Use An Update

Published

So last Friday, Google released updates for its web version of Google Maps which included many new features that could be found on Android’s native app already, which is a given. What the updated web version did was basically to put pc users on par with Android users in terms of features. The web version also included bicycling routes overlays and directions. Other features include clickable icons for transit stations and businesses; satellite, traffic, and bike path layers; and integration with Places pages that can include information like a business’s hours and customer ratings and reviews.

Basically what Android users have been enjoying all this while on Google Maps has finally found its way to the web version. Can anyone remember if and when we saw an update in the App Store for Google Maps? This is not to say that iOS users can’t enjoy these features as well, but they’d have to be accessed via the browser which may not be as convenient as launching the app itself.

I would view this as one of the advantages that Android users have over iOS users so does that mean Google will not be updating its app on iOS devices any time soon?
