Google Goggles hits version 1.4 for Android smartphones

Have you ever used Google Goggles on your Android-powered smartphone before? Now that is one interesting application, and I myself have found it to be quite accurate when it comes to well known brands, but there is still plenty of room for it to improve down the road with a higher degree of accuracy. Google has gone ahead to introduce improvements for Google Goggles, bringing it up to version 1.4 for a better and more personal experience. Some of the features that you can look forward to right out of the software box would be an enhanced search history experience, the ability to suggest better results to Google it isn’t able to match your image accurately as well as improved business card recognition.

For instance, your new search history experience allows you to search your Goggles results, while making personal notes on specific results and the ability to share your results with friends. Adding a personal note is a cinch – just tap the pencil in the corner whenever you view a search result and you’re good to go. The note itself will appear in your search history to make it easier to track down as well.

Goggles 1.4 also lets you suggest a better result whenever Goggles is unable to find an image match, or when the quality of the result is not up to your expectations. This dynamic growth of its database will certainly endear it to more people, and as long as you own an Android 1.6 or above device, you’re good to go with Google Goggles 1.4.
