Dual-core HTC Phone Arriving To AT&T?

It seems that the HTC Lead may very well be heading down to AT&T, which is no surprise really considering that they had stated their intentions to unleash a slew of Android enabled HTC phones this year, perhaps the HTC Lead would be part of that. It seems that the HTC Lead will be running on Qualcomm’s MSM8660 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, sporting 768MB of RAM, and featuring a 4.3-inch WVGA display as well as a 5 megapixel camera, Bluetooth 3.0, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.

Good news about the operating system is that it will most likely be running on Android’s Gingerbread 2.3.4 so you don’t have to worry about buying a phone that’s lagging behind in terms of operating system. Compared to the HTC EVO 3D or the HTC Sensation this phone would most likely be a mid-ranged phone targeting those who are looking for a cheaper alternative.

Given the choice of a mid-range phone that could potentially save you $100 or so, would you rather go for that or invest that $100 into a phone that you know will be a lot better? With so many mid-range alternatives out there it’s really hard to say, unless you are already tied to AT&T in which case this would make a decent mid-ranged device.
