Droid X Gingerbread update arriving soon?

According to the folks at Droid-Life, when they tried to check for updates on their Droid X phone today, instead of getting the usual “Your system is currently up to date” message that appears on all updated phones, the a message saying “Check for update was not available at this time. Try again later.” is displayed instead.

Now it could possibly mean that the server is simply down for maintenance or a reboot, but the same thing happened around the time of the Froyo update last year. Could this mean that they’re preparing the servers to push out the Gingerbread update? The leaked build has been floating around now, and according to reports it’s pretty complete, so it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to assume so. Well, it’ll only be a matter of time before we find out. Stay tuned for more details.
