Curved Glass Display For iPhone 5?

According to a report by Digitimes, industry sources have said that Apple is planning to adopt a curved glass cover for their next generation iPhone, which might be reminiscent of the iPod nano pictured above. Apple has also apparently purchased 200-300 glass cutting machines which are to be used by glass makers.

“There has been no timetable yet for the volume production of iPhone 5 as Apple is currently still working with related suppliers including those involved in cover glass, glass cutting, lamination and touch sensors to improve yield rates, the sources commented.”

It’s a bit hard to imagine an iPhone with such a curved surface, although Samsung’s Nexus S has such a concaved surface which is apparently design for comfort in mind. Perhaps the curved surface might reflect better in light and provide a better viewing experience. Either way a lot of the iPhone 5 rumors have been flying about lately, some believing the next iPhone will not be more than a slight modification and improvement on the iPhone 4 while there are others out there still hoping that they will be seeing a revolutionary device instead.
