Court Orders Samsung To Show Apple Their Unreleased Devices

A recent court ruling has ordered Samsung to turn over five of their unreleased devices – phones and/or tablets – to Apple for inspection before Apple makes their decision whether or not to file a preliminary injunction.

A little bit of background regarding this issue for those who are unfamiliar. This is part of an ongoing ligitation between Apple and Samsung with the former accusing the latter that they had ripped off design elements from their iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad devices, to be used in the design of the Samsung Nexus S Epic 4G,  Galaxy S 4G and Galaxy Tab. So now what this means is that Samsung will now have to present the Galaxy S2, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 10.1, Infuse 4G, and Droid Charge to Apple, but only for outside counsel, which means Steve Jobs, Apple’s engineers and internal lawyers will not be able to get their hands on them, which seems like a pretty fair decision.

If you are a Samsung product owner do you feel that this has tarnished the company’s image? There have been several side-by-side comparisons with the iOS devices which make some pretty convincing arguments, but let’s wait and see how Samsung rebounds from this.
