Apple Enters Cloud-Music Race

So we already know about Google Music which is Google’s answer to cloud music where users can upload songs to the cloud and stream them from any Android device. It seems that now Apple has decided to join the cloud music scene and by the looks of things it seems to be a much smoother process compared to Google where there have been some resistance by the major labels in terms of licensing.

Only last month Warner Music Group had already secured a deal with Apple and now negotiations with Sony Music Group and Universal Music Group are in the works and according to sources, the negotiations could be wrapped up as early as next week. Compared t0 Google and Amazon who still remain largely unlicensed , this means that Apple will have the freedom to roll out new features as they already have the licensing agreements in place.

Considering the big deal that Google made during their I/O conference about Google Music, one has to wonder how this will affect the success of Google Music and despite being the third to enter the cloud music race it looks like Apple might come out on top. As of now there has been no official word from the major labels or Apple.
