Android Game Emulators Pulled From Market

Published

on

Bad news if you have been a fan of Nesoid, Snesoid, Gensoid, N64oid, Ataroid, Gearoid and Gameboid as it seems that they have been yanked off Android Market, most probably by Google, without so much as a warning, along with the developer’s privileges. Not surprising as this was pretty much a copyright infringement lawsuit just waiting to happen. If you are unfamiliar with those names, they are actually video game console emulators that were developed by the developer yongzh and were ranked among the most popular paid apps in the Android Market.

Yongzh is now residing at a third-party app store SlideME where his creations will be upload there and will be free for now for existing customers to upgrade, although we don’t see why this wouldn’t stop new users from leeching the now-free apps. Either way if this is something you’re interested in you should probably go ahead and grab them while you can before they disappear for good.
