Ringbow Touch Screen Concept

Well check this out, a concept design for a tool that is supposed to help increase the user experience when interacting with a touch screen device. Meet Ringbow.

What this ring-shaped accessory does is that it works in conjunction with your thumb to make on-screen menus obsolete while at the same time allowing certain other actions without you having to touch the display. Talk about being hand’s off! Some examples include brushing the ring with a thumb could indicate that you want to perform a scroll function, which double tapping would mimic a double click, not to mention you would be able to wear multiple rings in different colors that would perform different functions.

It is a rather interesting concept and my mind straight away ran to Minority Report, I am sure some of you can see the resemblance. As interesting as it is, it seems highly unlikely that this concept will be taking off any time soon, at least not for tablets or smartphones which seem to advertise compactness and portability.
