iPad 2 rumored to have caused PlayBook’s delay

The BlackBerry PlayBook will be making its way to our retail stores in a couple of weeks, a month later than its initially predicted end of Q1 release date. RIM has never given a reason to the cause of delay, but previously there were rumors about the tablet’s battery life which were quickly dismissed. Now, a new rumor has surfaced – according to DigiTimes, a Taiwanese publication, the cause of the tablet’s delay was due to Apple snapping up all the available touch display panels on the market for the iPad 2. While there’s no concrete proof about such a thing happening, we’re glad the PlayBook will be here very soon. April 19 was the last officially promised date, let’s hope RIM keeps their promise. Anybody waiting for the BlackBerry PlayBook?
