WiFi Only Motorola Xoom goes official

It seems that the leaked Staples flyer which revealed the arrival date of the WiFi only Motorola Xoom tablet to be March 27 wasn’t a gimmick. Motorola has gone ahead and officially announced the Xoom WiFi to arrive on the very same date. The pricing of this Android Honeycomb 3.0 is also in tune with the previously mentioned tagging of $599. Upon launch Motorola Xoom WiFi will be available via a number of sources including-Amazon.com, Best Buy, Costco, RadioShack, Sam’s Club, Staples and Walmart. Basically the 32GB WiFi model comes with exactly the same spec sheet as the original Motorola Xoom but there will not be any 3G/4G connection inside. Xoom WiFi will look to compete with the iPad, although it has been already questioned for choosing the Honeycomb 3.0 platform which still is half baked for the tablet form factor.
