Solar film aims to keep your phones juiced throughout the day
A French company, Wysips, recently showed off some interesting technology at the CTIA this week. They managed to develop a special solar film designed to power cellphones. The solar film works like regular solar panels, except that they are transparent, so they can be placed over the screen of the phone, absorbing sunlight when used out doors or when resting on a desk next to a window. With a solar efficiency of 9%, granted it won’t give you a lot of power, but any bit of extra juice helps. Wysips are already in the process of locking down deals with manufacturers, suppliers and carriers, so you can expect to see these solar films being used in phones very soon.
