In-app purchases arriving on Android next week?

According to a post on the Android Developers Blog, Google announced that they have started testing the in-app purchasing functions on Android. Developers are also invited to test out the feature on their own apps. If everything goes smoothly, we should expect to see apps on the Android Market with in-app purchases as an option next week. Upgrading apps and adding extra features through in-app purchases eliminate the need to redownload an app sounds like a good idea to us. Parents should be prepared to handle excessive bills from their kids if developers or Google don’t implement some sort of password lock to help prevent unwanted in-app purchases for bonuses in games.
