Published

HTC has done well in the smartphone segment thus far and the Taiwanese smartphone maker is looking to grow further in this segment with focus on traits such as content and hardware. It is for the first time that HTC has hired a chief content officer, signaling that the focus will certainly be on content. HTC has named Shashi Fernando as the chief content officer, who will be the brains behind the process of manufacturing top-notch smartphones. It was only a month ago that HTC bought Saffron Digital, the mobile video firm, again indicating the attempt to improve content. In the future, HTC may design its own applications or contract with third-party designers, and it might as well have an application store in partnership with some experts from the trade.
