AT&T’s T-Mobile purchase approval is a tough ask
AT&T has justified its $39 billion acquisition of competing carrier T-Mobile but there is still time before the governing FCC gives it a final sanction. WSJ managed to get some comments from an undisclosed FCC source and it mentioned that AT&T will not get the nod-ahead from FCC this easily. AT&T still have a lot of answering to do, but interestingly an AT&T spokesperson responded positively, stating that the deal could be held up by the Commission. He mentioned that AT&T is ready to answer all queries and it can prove that the deal is in the public interest and that competition will continue to flourish. It has already been reported that even if this deal is sanctioned, it could still take an year to complete all the required formalities.
