Apple’s iOS 4.3 update has brought a lot of smiles to the faces of the lovers of Apple gadgets, but then the critics are always out with their daggers, aren’t they? It is now being reported that Ping, which is an addition that came in after the iOS 4.3 upgrade is causing concern amongst iPad and iPhone users. Ping is Apple’s music-based social network which is now said to be putting an additional strain on battery life, which is making the users unhappy. The problem crops from the fact that while listening to music through the iPod application, information is being transmitted to and from the device in order to make the social networking functionality work as intended. Since data usage is one of the fastest drains on your smartphone’s battery, it is all but obvious that Ping will drain the iPad/iPhone battery quicker. Apparently, the only way to get rid of this problem is to disable Ping on your iOS 4.3 running gadgets, until of course, a fix for the issue arrives.
