Amazon app store to launch next Tuesday?

Amazon’s own app store will be launching next Tuesday, March 22 according to some reports online. The app store will be accessible as an app on Android devices as well as online through the Amazon apps web store when it goes live. For those who were wondering why Amazon would release its own app store when there already is an Android Market, Amazon’s app store will be more akin to the Apple App Store than Google’s offering. Amazon will be screening apps to make sure they meet standards, and are free of any viruses/malware. Amazon will also be offering DRM protection to app developers who are afraid of their apps being pirated. Since Amazon has yet to offer any official release concerning the release date, we’ll just have to wait for Tuesday to see if reports turn out to be true.
