[MWC 2011] If you’re looking for a rugged phone that can take a bashing, perhaps the Sonim XP3300 Force is what you’re looking for, as Sonim has just introduced the phone over at Mobile World Congress. The exterior of this phone is pretty similar to other devices in the lineup, but it offers talk time or GPS tracking mode usage that ranges from 20 and 24 hours, or up to 800 hours in standby. The case of this device is made of fiberglass and features a 1.5mm thick Gorilla Glass window over the display and it complies with the IP-68 rating, allowing it to withstand a six-foot drop onto concrete, submersion in up to six feet of wastewater and temperatures that range from -4 to 131 degrees Fahrenheit.
Aside from the durability aspect, this phone offers assisted GPS functionality, a 2-megapixel camera with LED flash, quad-band GSM support, GPRS and EDGE data network for use with the Opera Mini browser and City Cruiser navigation. Mobile Resource Management (MRM) applications are included as part of the deal, offering location monitoring, fleet tracking, monitoring, timecard reporting, real-time work order updates, alerts, job scheduling, event confirmation, data collection and reports.
