Looks like NFC is definitely going to be more popular this year. After the introduction of the Nexus S, Samsung has just expanded its bada-powered Wave family with the Wave 578 (GT-S5780). This might be a mid-range phone, but it features a Near Field Communications (NFC) chip, allowing users to initiate contactless payments along with other contact-oriented services.
