Samsung, attempting to right the wrongs they’ve done to customers of their Galaxy S devices recently held an open discussion on the XDA-developers forum. Not long after the thread was opened, Samsung came under fire from customers who purchased their supposedly top-of-the-line Galaxy S phones last year. The problems mostly stemmed from Samsung promising the Android 2.2 (Froyo) update and failing to deliver it and the faulty GPS units on almost all of the 10 million Galaxy S devices worldwide that have yet to receive a fix. Samsung recently unveiled the Galaxy S successor, the Galaxy S 2 at the Mobile World Congress, which led to even more people believing that Samsung gave up all hope on their previous generation devices. Well the thread has now been closed, and Samsung has promised to look at every single suggestion and comment made during the discussion. They hope to launch another discussion sometime soon where they won’t be bombarded with negative remarks. In the meantime, let’s hope they do something about the Galaxy S phones. Unhappy customers aren’t very good for Samsung’s reputation.
