iOS 4.3 might bring gaming to Apple TV

Since the third beta of iOS 4.3 was released, people have been doing more poking around and discovered some new interesting features slated for the Apple TV. Hidden in the source code of the iOS operating system, there are mentions of “ATVGames” and “ATVThunder” that imply online gaming and gaming controller support. Though nothing is set in concrete for now, and it could be awhile before Apple decides to make gaming support official, we’re hoping it comes to Apple TV in the next public update for iOS. Folks are speculating that this “gaming” feature could be a streaming service similar to OnLive (games are processed on remote servers and then streamed to the user’s device). It would be fun to play some Angry Birds or Infinity Blade on a HDTV in the near future.
