It goes without saying that HTC is heavily involved in the mobile scene and now it seems that the company wants to ensure that mobile gaming becomes an important part of the future too as word is going around that HTC has invested a cool $40 million in cloud gaming experts OnLive. A company spokesperson said that this will strengthen its gaming capabilities and help HTC tap into the increasing demand for games on smartphones, which is definitely something that HTC is involved in. Considering that HTC pulled in about $500 million net profit in the last fiscal quarter, the company certainly has the cash to play with. While many folks had doubts about OnLive when it was first unveiled a while back, this does send out a strong backing for the company, and hopefully it turns out to be good news for gamers out there.
