Flickr Uploader app for BlackBerry to be discontinued in March?

RIM has published a statement of discontinuation of the Flickr Uploader app and it looks like BlackBerry users won’t have access to the popular photo-sharing service through the official app in March. The notice mentions that users who want to upload photos to Flickr can still use the mobile site. It wasn’t mentioned why support for the app was removed, but they state that if you try using the app, it might give you the following error message: Request Failed. Please try again later. The app will also be removed from the BlackBerry App World on March. Seeing how the app hasn’t been updated in a very long time, it makes sense. Hopefully an improved app is in the works, or some native photo-sharing options will be part of the next OS update. We’ll have to wait and see.
