It seems like AT&T really do have an iron grip on their customers. It has been recently discovered that the upload speeds on the Inspire 4G seem to have been throttled by AT&T, reducing it from HSPA+ to 3G. Why would AT&T do such a thing? The answer is uncertain for now, but the good news is that the 4G upload speeds can be enabled with a firmware fix. Now all we need to wait for is the developing community or AT&T/HTC to provide it. Something tells me Inspire 4G fans won’t be too happy with this piece of news. Why do you think AT&T would throttle their 4G phone but not other devices if the main selling point of most 4G devices are their data speeds?
