A lot of people were affected by this worldwide bug after the clocks struck 12 on New Year’s Day. In case you didn’t know, the iPhone’s alarm clock somehow failed to function once the year hit 2011. Usually this isn’t a serious issue – maybe you oversleep and miss a flight or an appointment, but for a woman in Boston – she lost her job. Apparently because she arrived late to work, she was fired, and she now seeks an apology from Apple’s CEO, Steve Jobs. Whether or not it was the iPhone’s fault she overslept is one thing, but to be fired for getting to work late just for one day is enough to get her sacked? My guess is she probably had some previous issues with the management and they needed one more excuse to fire her. Head here to watch a video of the news report. It looks like Apple has been having trouble with alarm clocks on their iPhones recently. First it was the whole issue with daylight savings time, and now this. I wonder what other alarm clock problems could there be in the future?
