Great news for developers of Windows Phone 7 apps – Microsoft has started sending out the paychecks for the apps sold on the Windows Marketplace. It’s been 3 months since WP7 launched and it looks like all that hard work has finally paid off. Developers so far have been pretty happy with the Windows Phone 7 platform. Customer service from Microsoft has been good; the platform is a joy to work on, and early sales for their apps met their expectations. The only problem the developers seem to have with the operating system so far is that there aren’t enough people using it. This is a normal thing especially with a brand new operating system – but it’s something Microsoft hope changes with time. With the app store growing at such a rapid rate, and Microsoft planning to enable homebrew apps on their operating system, it won’t have any problem with the “lack of apps” deterring new users from using the platform. Hopefully things continue to grow positively for Windows Phone 7.
