Why do the holes on the iPad 2 cases keep changing?

The folks over at iLounge have released an extremely interesting article questioning the legitimacy of all the iPad 2 case leaks we’ve been fed so far. In case you haven’t noticed, all the iPad 2 cases have had redesigned backs. Extra holes spotted on the sides and bottom which have led to the speculation of additional ports, larger speakers and so on. But until now, we have yet to see any images of the real device to confirm if any of these extras are what we’ve been thinking about all along. For all we know the iPad 2 will have none of that in the final version, seeing how Apple likes to keep everything sleek and elegant, it wouldn’t be surprising if the next iPad has no SD card slot or USB port.Anyhow, the article proposed a very interesting theory which probably hasn’t crossed a lot of minds before – Apple could be feeding wrong information to these third party case manufacturers just to see what gets leaked out. A tricky way to test how tight lipped a manufacturer can be and judging by what’s been happening over the past few months, it looks like many of them can’t be trusted. This definitely explains all the different cases we’ve been seeing so far but if they’ve been leaking out the wrong information. The details of the correct iPad dimensions and specifications have probably been delivered to some trustworthy manufacturers (probably tested in the same way previously) and they will be the ones who will produce the accessories that will be available at the same time as the iPad 2’s launch. Or there is the (highly unlikely) possibility of the iPad 2 coming in multiple variants, and Apple hasn’t been leaking bad info at all. I guess only time will tell, let’s hope an official announcement will come sooner than later. Any thoughts?
