ViewSonic unveils 4.1″ Android phone

Looks like ViewSonic is getting involved with the smartphone business as well – they’ve just unveiled a new Android phone at CES 2011 that seems targeted at the mid to high-end consumer. It features a 4.1″ screen, running Android 2.2 on a 1GHz Qualcomm processor, with a rear 5 megapixel camera and a 3 megapixel front facing camera, and Swype input. The phone will retail for $549 when it hits the stores, though it hasn’t been confirmed when that will be. ViewSonic isn’t a company that’s more known for their TVs and displays rather than phones, so it’ll be interesting to see how well the phone will stand against the competition.
