Universal iPhone bumper makes its way into the Apple Store

When the Verizon iPhone was announced, one of the main questions people asked was “will old accessories work with it?” The answer being – most of them will, but due to the movement of the mute switch placement, the Verizon iPhone isn’t compatible with most of the existing bumper cases available on the market right now. In light of this problem, Apple has quietly stocked the Apple Stores with a new universal bumper that will accommodate both versions of the iPhone. Some stores already have them up for sale (probably in preparation for when the Verizon iPhone makes its debut). So if you plan to purchase a Verizon iPhone 4 and you want to make sure you have a case on launch day, you can buy it in advance. Watch a video after the break showing off the new universal bumper.
