A new Samsung phone has paid a visit to the FCC, and it bears a strangely familiar shape and model number. The unknown device is from Samsung and supports AWS 3G, which makes it suitable for T-Mobile. It bears the model number GT-i9023 which is one digit away from the i9020 of the Nexus S. Some retailers in Europe have already started listing the i9023 as a “Black Silver” Nexus S which seems to point towards just being another color scheme for the phone. However, it wouldn’t make much sense to send the phone to the FCC just because it had a paint job. Could this be an updated Nexus S for T-Mobile that supports their new 21Mbps HSPA+ network?
