It’s not easy to have a successful phone over in Japan, since there are plenty of high-tech gadgets over there that we’d normally only dream out. That being said, Apple’s iPhone and Samsung’s Galaxy S have (unsurprisingly) done very well, according to data released by market research firm Gfk Japan. The company noted that no less than seven of the top 10 handsets sold in the country between January 10th and 16th were smartphones. This is one of the rare times that the iPhone has to settle for second place, being trumped by Samsung’s Galaxy S, and the list reads:
