Over 2 million Windows Phone 7 devices sold

While it’s not an official statistic, folks out there have used the number of active users of the official Windows Phone 7 Facebook app to estimate that Microsoft has sold about two million Windows Phone 7 devices. Yes, we know that using the app numbers probably isn’t the most accurate way to estimate the numbers, but it does offer a rough guideline. The numbers are still far away from Apple’s devices, which clock in about 366,000 iOS device activations per day, not to mention Google’s android which activates about 300,000 devices a day too. At least it shows that Microsoft’s latest mobile phone operating system is gaining some support and hopefully it’ll be able to mount a serious challenge against iOS and Android.
