Motorola to ship 700k-800k tablets in Q1 2011
Motorola has high hopes for their upcoming Android tablet. According to reports, the American manufacturer has plans to ship 700,000-800,000 tablets this year – in the first quarter alone. Talk about ambitious! If sales of the tablet go as predicted, they’ll be catching up to Apple’s iPad in no time. But with the Android tablet market highly saturated with so many different choices from other manufacturers, it’s going to be an uphill battle against the iOS tablet king, especially when it launched, the tablet market was pretty much non-existent. But Android has been known to do wonders for sales, and it’s undeniable that Honeycomb makes the Motorola Xoom stand out from the competition. But the device has yet to hit the stores yet, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Maybe the fact that the tablet ships in four different colors could even help boost sales. Do you see yourself purchasing one of these bad boys when it goes on sale?
