Microsoft reveals some Windows Phone 7 stats

In a recent interview with Bloomberg, Microsoft had some interesting figures to share with the public. The Redmond giant has shipped out 2 million Windows Phone 7 devices, but they declined to reveal how many of those units were moved off the shelves. Sure, 2 million is a big deal but if they are all still sitting in stockrooms or the shelves of shops all over the world, it really doesn’t mean a thing. But out of all the devices sold, Microsoft mentioned that 93% of their customers were satisfied with their devices. They also noted that their brand awareness is up 66% (from the heavy promoting and word of mouth from those satisfied customers) so it looks like they’re on the right track. With the app count at 6,500 (and still growing) with 24,000 officially registered developers – it also shows a healthy interest in the operating system from the developer community, which is never a bad thing. With a Windows Phone 7 update that brings copy/paste and operating system enhancements slated to arrive shortly, we can only expect things to get better from here. How many of you are satisfied WP7 customers?
