Line2 VoIP service now available on Android
If you’ve been shopping around for a new VoIP app for your Android phone, you might want to take a peek at Line2 from Toktumi. Line2 is actually similar to Google Voice as it gives you a new phone number, but it allows you to make calls over Wi-Fi or 3G/4G data when available and it will use the regular network when a data connection isn’t present. At the moment, you’re able to sign up for a 30-day trial, after that you’ll need to shell out $9.95 a month for unlimited calling and texting in the US and Canada. The service doesn’t support too many devices at the moment, as it’s only certified for the Droid, Droid 2 and Droid Incredible and it doesn’t work on Galaxy S phones that are stuck on Android 2.1. That being said, if you already own the supported devices, there’s no harm in giving it a test drive. Check out a video of it for more information after the jump.
