iPad display maker prepares for the iPad 2?

Wintek, who are currently the only display suppliers for the iPad and iPhone have been reported making a $13 million investment in new land to build new production plants. The new land surrounds their current factories in China and the plants on them are expected to go online by June this year. This will help them achieve their target of 2.5 million medium-sized touch panels per month from the second half of the year. Whether or not the new plants are done in preparation for the iPad 2, it sure tallies with predictions about Apple planning to ship out an insane number of iPads this year.
