Since the Verizon iPhone 4 was announced to have a Personal Hotspot feature to share its internet connection with up to 5 other WiFi-enabled devices, there have been rumors pointing to iOS 4.3 supporting this new feature. This means that all iPhones (though it’s still up to Apple to determine which iPhones will receive the update) will be able to create Personal Hotspots in the future. And even if Apple enables the feature on the devices, it’s going to be up to carriers to whether they will allow it to be used on their network. After all, it took AT&T almost a year just to enable tethering on their iPhones. Now that there are two carriers offering the iPhone, it’s going to be interesting to see how they try to outdo each other. How many of you use Personal Hotspots, and would it affect your decision in buying an iPhone?
