Offering a modular phonedidn’t work out too well for Modu, but maybe if HTC took a crack at it, the results might be different. A concept phone design dubbed the HTC TUBE has surfaced, and we must admit this modular phone design looks extremely sexy. The phone consists of an outer shell and an inner “cartridge”. The phone can be loaded with different cartridges to offer different operating systems, camera sensors, and storage capacities, amongst other things. You’ll be able to get up to 64GB in terms of storage, not to mention your choice of Android 2.2 Froyo, Windows Phone 7, or dual-booting. If image quality is a priority to you, you can swap the 3.2-megapixel camera module for a cartridge with a 12-megapixel sensor. The HTC TUBE is definitely a phone we’d love to review.
