According to reports online the chairman of China Mobile, Wang Jianzhou, revealed that Apple has plans to support LTE 4G networks. While speaking on the topic of the CDMA iPhone arriving on his carrier’s network, he was quoted saying: “These two years we have been discussing the issue. Right now the situation is moving forward. Apple has made it clear they will support TD-LTE.” No specific time frame was mentioned about the 4G LTE iPhone though – but knowing Apple, they’re not known to simply rush out phones. They’ll probably wait until 4G LTE becomes more widely adopted throughout the world before releasing an iPhone that supports it. Then again, Apple has also been known to surprise us. Perhaps we’ll see it by the end of the year? Only time will tell.
