Palm Pre owners who feel left out without the latest webOS now have a reason to feel happier. A beta version of webOS 2.0 has been spotted running on a Palm Pre. Apparently webOS 2.0 won’t run so well on the original Palm Pre’s hardware, so optimizations have been made to make it work better on the 500MHz/256MB of RAM device. Kudos to HP-Palm for keeping their promise of making webOS 2.0 available on the older Palm models. No official release date has been announced, but expect it to turn up within the next few months. If you can’t wait that long for webOS 2.0, you’ll just have to get your hands on a brand new Palm Pre 2.
