Verizon Wireless is undecided on LTE smartphone service pricing
At the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference today, Verizon Wireless CEO Ivan Seidenberg mentioned that the company will spend some time observing how users use their data before announcing the plans for their 4G LTE smartphone plans. With the carrier only launching their LTE-capable phones next year, it makes sense for them to play the waiting game before making any decisions. Their 4G LTE service has been available since Sunday but is only accessible by a USB dongle modem. With their current plans going at $50/month for 5GB of data and $80/month for 10GB of data and excess fees of $10/GB, they won’t be lowering their prices anytime soon. “We have to hold firm as best we can until the entire environment is mature enough where we have devices and services so that people can see the value.” Verizon also plans to light up additional LTE markets every month for the next 2 years so that they can get 85% of the country covered by the end of 2012. It looks like the folks over at Verizon have stepped up to the plate by offering a brand new tablet for the masses which will follow up from their 2013 offering, which was the 7” Ellipsis. This time around, the tablet on offering would be known as the Ellipsis 10, and based on the name alone, it is rather obvious that this is a 10” device.

If you are on the lookout for a new Motorola handset, there is no reason not to look forward to the upcoming Motorola Droid Kinzie from Verizon Wireless. This smartphone has seen more of its hardware specifications revealed in a leaked benchmark reading, where we do know that it will boast of a 5.5” QHD (2,560 x 1,440) touchscreen display, a 5MP camera in front, a 20MP camera at the back with 4K video capture ability, 3GB RAM, and 32GB of internal memory.
There will also be Android 5.1.1 Lollipop running alongside a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810 chipset that will boast of four high-performance Cortex-A57 cores and an equal number of Cortex-A53 ones. Connectivity options will include NFC, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS, and chances are the Motorola Droid Kinzie will be out in stores later this October if history does repeat itself.

If that is the case, then chances are you would have noticed that your device is more or less the last to pick up the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, at least among the other carriers that also offer the handset.
