Yet another remote control app arrives for the iOS. Apple TV, TiVo, Google TV, and Comcast Xfinity all have apps to turn your iPad/iPhone into a remote control. Latest to join the party is Verizon for their FiOS service. Verizon has just released a FiOS app to turn your iPad into a 9.7″ remote control. The FiOS app will allow you to use your iPad to change channels, control your FiOS set top box, browse the TV guide, control your DVR, and record shows even when you’re not home. Talk about convenience. However, with so many different remotes that people might have in their homes, it’s only going to be a matter of time where someone designs a universal remote app to handle all the remote duties using one app alone. Head over to the iTunes App Store to download the free FiOS app. Make sure you meet the requirements listed on the site for it to work.
