Tune in to Verizon 4G this Sunday
Verizon has officially announced that their 4G LTE networks will go live this Sunday, December 5. It will cover 110,000,000 American customers in 38 metro areas and 60 airports. Not bad for day 1 of the network. Verizon hopes to build a coast-to-coast network by 2013. On launch day, there will be a couple of USB models for sale at $100 each (after a $50 rebate and new contract). Initially, the modems will only be sold by Verizon, but they will be available elsewhere at a later date. The monthly plans are $50/month with a 5GB cap, but users can go over their limit for $10/GB. Users will also receive alerts whenever they hit 50%, 75%, 90% and 100% of their bandwidth. Users can also manually check their usage through the Verizon access manager. And as for Verizon 4G phones, we’ll have to wait for CES 2011 before they make any official announcements. The coverage map will be revealed on Sunday itself, so keep your eyes peeled. Who’s exciting about finally getting 4G LTE coverage?
