Windows Phone 7 comes with Bing Maps preinstalled, but one thing it doesn’t have is turn-by-turn navigation (unlike Google Maps that comes preinstalled with most phones) to help you get to where you need. Sure you can move the map manually, but for precise directions on telling you where to turn off or what road to look out for isn’t there, meaning it would be pretty dangerous to use and drive. TeleNav solves this problem by bringing GPS Navigator to your WP7 device. With TeleNav GPS Navigator, you get turn-by-turn directions with voice prompts to help you get where you need to go. In addition to guided navigation, you also get traffic alerts and weather notifications for the area you’re travelling in. The app is also optimized for WP7’s (current) lack of multi-tasking. If you leave the app to do something else, it only takes a few taps to get back on track, and if you receive a phone call while using it, an interface pops up for you to answer your call and when you hang up it resumes from where you left off as if you never had a call. But most good things all come with a price, and TeleNav GPS will cost you $9.99/month though there is a free 30 day trial for you to see whether it’s worth investing in.
