Sprint has just announced that the Epic 4G Froyo (Android 2.2) update that found its way online yesterday is just a test build and shouldn’t be installed on your phones. Despite being unapproved by Sprint, users who installed the test build have reported an improved performance on their phones- and to be told to remove it from your phone would just be torture. But just to be safe rather than sorry, if you have the update installed, it is recommended you roll back the device and wait for the finalized Froyo update for your phone. It looks like Epic 4G users don’t get bragging privileges for getting Froyo anymore. And the race is back on again to see which Galaxy S device gets Android 2.2 first. But with Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) already announced, it seems quite pointless for Samsung to release the Android 2.2 update now- they should just focus on the latest version available. What do you think?
